I was commissioned to design and illustrate English with Pip and Pippy, a book aimed at learners of all ages, with a special focus on life in the UK and settling there as an adult. The client envisioned a happy, playful, and cozy atmosphere, with large, clear spaces that would make the content feel approachable and friendly. The illustrations were inspired by the everyday charm and warmth of British life, creating an inviting visual world that supports and enriches the learning experience.
Objectives
The main goal was to design a book that was both educational and emotionally engaging, helping learners feel at ease while navigating a new culture.
The design needed to:
